The Direct Commercial Limited’s new office building in Chelmsford has been designed to accommodate the continuing growth and expansion of the DCL business.
Pro:works and Lanpro have collaborated to achieve delegated detailed planning approval for this new office building in Essex. The building design has been tailored to suit the specific needs of the client and their functional brief. The new building is proposed to be located over the business’ current staff car park. Car parking targets were therefore achieved through an under croft solution, which offers a functional feature to the building’s design. As a result, the entry point at ground level is highlighted, and provides clear access through to the offices via the new reception. Conceived as a place to work, collaborate and share knowledge, the new office is a vital element of the company’s evolving brand and identity.
The simple form is detailed with the use of textured fibre cement cladding panels, arranged in a regular gridded diamond pattern. The new spaces will accommodate an additional 36 work points, as well as the introduction of ancillary break-out and collaborative spaces to encourage new ways of working. The building will supplement DCL’s existing premises at Hedgrows Business Park, Essex.
The project is due on site in late 2018, with Pro:works providing Project Management and detail design services.
